What it does
Overview
Female Harmony is used for tonifying kidney yin, nourishing blood and regulating immune function. It is also recommended to support a fertile environment, addressing kidney yin deficiency excessive inner fire.
Traditional Chinese medicine states that the kidneys dominate growth, development and maturity. They also “house the water”, meaning that they provide the bodily fluids that diminish with age, fatigue or illness. (Kidney YIN is the fluid aspect of the kidneys.) Therefore a deficiency leads to symptoms of dryness in the skin, hair, and joints…sometimes leading to heat sensations.
What it is best for:
Female Harmony addresses patterns of kidney yin deficiency with heat, symptoms are:
- Feeling hot in afternoon or evening
- Anxiety
- Night sweats, or heat from the palms, soles and chest at night
- Hot flashes
- Dark circles under eyes
- Tinnitus or dizziness
- Low back soreness, weakness
- Knee problems
- Thirst or dry mouth
- Vaginal dryness
- No or little mid-cycle mucous
- Premature gray hair
- Frequent scanty yellow urine
Why it works:
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), when you bleed, you are most deficient and vulnerable. It is extremely important to nourish the blood not only while you are bleeding but also immediately when the growth of Yin takes place. Body energy needs to move freely for this to happen. When energy does not move freely, stagnation occurs. Since the energy of the kidney system is particularly important to reproduction.
