The root of Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis [Oliv.] Diels) contains a volatile, aromatic oil with ligustilide, butylene phthalide, as well as non-aromatics including ferulic acid and various polysaccharides. This extract is standardized at 0.9% ligustilide.
